Area Sales Manager - Pacific Coast Territory Location: Pacific Coast territory (California, Oregon, Washington), preferably based in a California metro area
Position Type: Full-Time
Travel Requirements: Approximately 80% travel within the Pacific Coast territory
Reports To: National Sales Manager
Overview The Area Sales Manager for the Pacific Coast territory will contribute to a high-performing sales organization by driving revenue growth and achieving defined business objectives. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of five years of medical device sales experience, established relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, and residency within the territory.
This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities while expanding revenue within existing health system and hospital accounts across the region.
Key Responsibilities • Achieve or exceed assigned territory sales quota for a portfolio of medical devices and related solutions
• Develop and execute effective territory sales strategies aligned with corporate growth objectives
• Identify changes in healthcare delivery systems, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to refine sales strategies and tactics
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts
• Partner with sales leadership and strategic account teams to develop and strengthen key customer relationships
• Support negotiation of purchase agreements and contracting discussions with healthcare systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, finance, and customer support to address key business opportunities and challenges
• Maintain competitive awareness of relevant technologies and solutions within the market
• Attend sales meetings, clinical meetings, industry seminars, and conferences as appropriate
• Utilize CRM and related technology tools to document activity, manage the sales pipeline, and track opportunities
Qualifications • Proven track record of successfully achieving or exceeding sales targets within the medical device industry
• Experience selling disposable medical device technologies or similar hospital-based solutions
• Strong business analysis capabilities with the ability to manage territory performance and financial objectives
• Demonstrated skills in strategy development, project management, problem solving, and change management
• Solid understanding of healthcare environments, hospital systems, and regulatory considerations
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships across clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to engage senior hospital leadership including C-suite executives
• Proficiency with business software tools including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Preferred Experience • Familiarity with medication safety, pharmacy operations, oncology workflows, or hazardous drug handling environments
• Experience with healthcare automation technologies or small-capital equipment sales
• Understanding of hospital pharmacy or infusion center purchasing processes
